Festivities Include Folkloric Dancers, Mariachis, Food and Beverage Specials May 3-5

San Diego – April 17, 2014 – Diane Powers was the first to bring a Cinco de Mayo celebration to Old Town in 1983, and today she continues her dedication to the Mexican culture with lively celebrations at her family of restaurants.

Several days of strolling mariachis and Folkloric dancers, tasty food and drink specials will be at each location:

Casa de Pico, La Mesa:
Live entertainment including mariachis and Folkloric dancers will kick off the fiesta May 3-5, with performances from noon to 9 p.m.

“Cheers” all weekend long with specials on the festive “Cincorita” margarita – strawberry, Midori (melon flavored liqueur) and lime in layers of green, white and red, paying homage to the Mexican flag. Diners will munch on the cheesy Enchiladas Banderas – a savory sampling of chicken, cheese and beef enchiladas served with three different sauces – verde, blanca and rojas (green, white and red).

Casa Sol y Mar, Del Mar Highlands:
Casa Sol y Mar will feature festive entertainment Saturday, Sunday and Monday including Ballet Folklorico at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and mariachis from 1-9 p.m.
On Monday during happy hour from 4-7 p.m. in the Cantina, guests will enjoy promotional giveaways from Dos Equis, Pacífico and Negra Modelo, as well as house margaritas for $3.95. Featured food and drink specials include the Cincorita Margarita and Enchiladas Banderas.

Casa Guadalajara, Old Town:
Festive entertainment will begin at noon Saturday, Sunday and Monday with Troubadours, followed by mariachi and Ballet Folkloric performances.
On May 5, drink specials will start at noon in the Cantina, with promotions including Margarita de Cointreau for $5.95 from noon to 2 p.m., MargaFrida (Frida Kahlo margarita) for $6.95 from 4-6 p.m., Herradura Silver Shots for $5 from 6-8 p.m., and Herradura Skinny Margarita for $6.95 from 8:15-10:15 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, some of our most popular antojitos (appetizers) will also be on special in the Cantina, including the Cheese Quesadilla, Nachos Chicos, Tostadita and Taquitos Chicos for $4.95, and Mini Ceviche for $5.95.

Casa de Bandini, Carlsbad:

Latin American folk band TINKU will commence three-days of live entertainment Saturday, Sunday and Monday, followed by mariachi performances and Folkloric dancers. Entertainment is from noon to 9 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday, drink specials will include small Azunia margaritas for $7.95 from noon to 2 p.m., Cuervo Bucket of Gold for $5.95 from 2-3 p.m., pints of Dos Equis for $4 from 3-5 p.m., small Don Julio margaritas for $9.95 from 5-7 p.m., and a special late night happy hour from 7-9 p.m. including $1 off draft beers, $2 off wine, $4.50 house margaritas and half-off select appetizers.

All day Monday, small house margaritas are $4.50, Dos Equis pints are $4 and Coronito large margaritas are $9.95.
